Hi! Greetings from Ukraine!

 Just over three weeks ago, we had our homes, close friends and promising employment. We were happy with the snow, awaited for spring and made plans for summer. Our children went to school, played superheroes and dreamed of new football boots. Our parents were happy with the achievements of their grandchildren, in the evening they discussed world news at the common table and talked about politics and culture.  

On February 24th, 2022 every Ukrainian woke up at 5 am because of bomb attack.  Russia started a full-scale war against our country. A treacherous and ruthless war. Many of us no longer have homes. Most of us call our friends everyday to make sure that they are alive. The most horrible thing to understand is that a person's phone is disconnected. We did not even notice the arrival of spring. Today, all Ukrainains are united by one dream and that is VICTORY. Our children stay in bomb shelters, hoping for the victory of the Ukrainian military against the Russian occupants. Our parents… Many of them stay at home because they are emotionally attached to their houses and separation from them can be extremely stressful. Our lives consist of morning to evening phone calls to relatives and friends.  

Today we stand together, as we are united in our desire to live on our own land. The more the Russian aggressor attacks, the stronger our resistance and defense become. After all, love for our own land, history and nation is embedded in our genes.  At present, many Ukrainian families are looking for security in the border areas. Some people cross the border, however the majority remains in the communities, towns and villages of Western Ukraine.  Here, in Transcarpathia, we are engaged in active volunteer work, helping both displaced persons and those who remain at the center of a vicious battle between Ukrainian and Russian forces.  Andriy Piven Foundation is a charitable organization, which was registered in 2019. Our organization functions in accordance with the legislation requirements of Ukraine.  

According to the Statute, the purpose of the Foundation is to carry out charitable activities, provide material and financial assistance and render selfless services for those in need, as well as to promote spiritual and moral development of individuals.  

Displaced persons and residents of other areas are provided with food, hygiene products and other major essentials, as well as sleeping places. In addition, we provide targeted (upon request) support to our military.  We receive humanitarian aid from the Czech Republic, Germany and Slovakia. We are extremely grateful to the communities of these countries for their help!

We have opened a fundraiser in the form of humanitarian aid for the targeted needs of Ukrainian military and civilians.
